In 2020, the fourth Green Fjord conference will convene. In 2018, the Storting decided that traffic in the World Heritage fjords should be reserved for zero-emission vessels from 2026. This means that no large cruise ships will be permitted to sail into Geiranger or Flåm from that year on. How can we prevent value creation in small rural communities from eroding and vanishing? The Storting’s ambitions for zero-emission World Heritage fjords will obviously be one among many other interesting topics at the conference, such as new opportunities for year-round value creation and sustainable local community development. The dates will be 12 and 13 February 2020.
