Adventures in Fjord Landscapes<\/span><\/strong>
\nDeep within the longest, deepest, narrowest and most beautiful fjords in the world, the
\nSunnm\u00f8re Alps rise steeply. On mountain shelves high above the fjord, people have
\ncleared their fields, built their houses and clawed their homes to the mountains. This
\nmarvellous landscape was added to UNESCO\u2019s World Heritage List in 2005, together with
\nN\u00e6r\u00f8yfjord.
\nQueen Sonja has repeatedly returned to the West Norwegian fjord landscape to hike in the
\nmountains. \u00d8rnulf Opdahl has renewed Norwegian landscape painting with his depictions
\nof his home region. Their love of art and their love of the raw nature of western Norway
\nhas brought the two of them together, and this year they are publishing the book \u201cAdventures
\nin Fjord Landscapes\u201d. The book is richly illustrated with photos and paintings, and
\nprovides conversations in which the two reflect on the traces left by the people who lived
\ntheir lives in this landscape.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Queen Sonja and Opdahl share thoughts
\non how they themselves incorporate impressions of nature into their art. The book builds
\non \u201cKlangbunn\u201d, which was published in 2002, but is greatly expanded on to include more
\nphotos from the Queen\u2019s trips to this area, and \u00d8rnulf Opdahl\u2019s watercolours and paintings
\nof peaks, mountains and glaciers in Sunnm\u00f8re. You can enjoy the photos and watercolours
\nrelated to this book collaboration in this beautiful exhibition<\/p>\n
